It is an unprecedented time. It is an uncertain time. And more than anything, it is time to stand up for what is right. Veterans, we swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. We have served all over the world, in the hopes that we could provide stabilization, freedom, and democracy. And yet, right now, in our own country, many of our own citizens still struggle to enjoy the fundamental rights our Constitution provides. So please, stand with us as we stand with those that need us.
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.” – Elizabeth Andrew
You're not just a volunteer with Continue To Serve, you're part of the team. Every member plays an integral role in the organization and we need more veterans to step up to the plate. Help us support the organizations fighting for the rights of our citizens.
Please look over the job descriptions below or if you already know what you'd like to volunteer for, click the Volunteer Form button below. Remember even if you can't be involved in direct action or you're not in the DC area, we can still use your help!!
Event Volunteer Team
Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up/clean-up, registration, distribution of food/refreshments, logistical support before, during and after the event, and provide support for whatever our partner organizations might need.
Social Media & Marketing Team
We utilize social media to amplify the voices and reach of local grassroots organizations. As with all of our volunteer positions, time commitment is limited to whatever your schedule will allow.
Education & Training Team
Help us create content, educational tools, and informational guides to inspire, educate, and empower our veteran community to be more engaged and informed in an age where there is so much disinformation.
As a relatively new organization, we are in need of those with experience in the nonprofit realm, but we also need individuals with solid business, finance, accounting, legal, marketing, and administration experience. We do not require our board members to be a veteran, though it certainly doesn't hurt!
The primary function of the medical team is basic first-aid, such as, treating minor injuries, heat casualties, assisting patients that have been gassed during protests, and providing CPR, if needed. We are partnered with Medics for Justice for almost all events.
Photography & Videography Team
While it would be awesome if you're a professional photographer or videographer, you don't have to be! We need veterans out there helping to document what is happening.
Direct Action Team
Whether you just want to get out there and protest or if you want to step up to a leadership role and ensure our volunteers and personnel are in the right places at the right times, this is the team for you. It is time for veterans to stop being silent and on the sidelines. It's time for us to stand and get into the action.
Join us on bike or on foot during protests. We need individuals to help with communications and to monitor movement of the march. Anyone volunteering for security only does as much as they are comfortable with doing.
Journalism & Blogging Team
The only way we are going to make a permanent impact with the BLM movement is through education. Our writing staff is working hard to provide content that educates, provides insight, and gives clarity to the many complex issues affecting our country right now.
All of our teams need effective leadership, from our volunteer team to our social media team to our direct action team. There are a number of roles we are needing to fill right now. I know volunteering for leadership feels a lot like that E6 position, but I promise, at CTS we are a team and we just need points of contact on the ground to ensure we are providing the support we promised we'd provide.
